How much do we spend on a Rescue Dane?

The majority of dogs entering the care of Rescue come in needing all the basic vetting their owners should have provided, but didn't. There are always exceptions, but this is a basic breakdown for any Danes cared for in PA.

Costs for Danes with Common Issues

Additional costs that may be incurred or illnesses that sometimes must be treated:

Service

Cost

Spay/neuter

$200-400 (depending on size, age of dog)

Diagnosis of Wobbler's Syndrome

$150

Gold Bead Implants for Wobbler's

$700-900

Bloat surgery

$2000-5000

teeth cleaning

$200 (only performed if deemed necessary to health of dog)

happy tail

$200-500

Cherry Eye

$300-500

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

$60-100 (depending on strain, antibiotics may be expensive)

Heartworm treatment

$300-700

Lymes Disease

$60-100 (for antibiotics)

This does not include the cost of food while the dog lives at the foster home, nor any of the other "basics" like collar, leash, toys, and most of all TIME and LOVE. How can you put a price on those?
